it is quite evident, based on design and quality of construction, to be a Grand Rapids Style Side Bar. Mail-order Catalogues and general furniture stores at the turn of the century offered an almost endless range, form and fashions, generally in oak and often finished in the light color known as "golden" oak which gives its name to these styles, as did the Grand Rapids factories that produced so much of this furniture. This Side Bar, manufactured of first cut oak, sold for approx. $ 40, in the early 1920's, quite expensive for the time. |

Although not yet an antique, collectors of this era will invest as much as $1,250 to $1,350 when in top original restored condition. Again, thank you for choosing Lucille's to assist in your furniture evaulation needs. Best regards. Lucille Thurston |
